Hello, this is my first post for this new section «Learning english» of my personal blog. Since today I’m going to share my progress, exercises, achievements and thoughts about learning english.

I work as a birding guide in nature destinations near Valledupar, the city I live in; I spend the most of my time guiding for visitors inside parks and natural reserves throughout Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Serranía del Perijá and La Guajira, in northern Colombia. Now, I’m studying tourism guiding at SENA, Valledupar, for becoming a licensed guide and to give a more professional service to all the people participating in the tourism industry.

I’m completely interested in birds and birdwatching, also nature conservation, so I try to contribute to conservation initiatives as a volunteer in Valledupar and northern Colombia. Some places where I often go as a guide or a volunteer are Los Tananeos Natural Reserve, in Manaure, Los Besotes Ecopark, in Valledupar, and Sabana Rubia Paramo, in the highlands of Manaure, Serranía del Perijá.

I live alone in an apartment, but I have visitors often; usually my son comes one or two weekends a month, He lives in a small town near the city, and we’re planning to move together next year, when He will finish high school and start studying at college.

I consider myself a modest person and a simply server for my fellow human beings, trying to follow good examples of humbleness that a lot of people do in everyday life.
